Birth of Gautama Buddha
It is believed that Queen Mahamaya Devi, give birth to Siddhartha Gautam in the year of 563 BCE. Siddhartha Gautam turned into Gautam Buddha when he attained enlightenment under the Maha Bodhi tree. Siddhartha Gautam was the prince of the king. There is an interesting concept behind a prince turning into a saint. It was told by a foreteller to the parents of Siddhartha Gautam that if he happens to see anything upsetting in his life ever; he would surely leave all the world affairs and will dedicate himself to spiritualism. This happened and the world got the religion of Buddhism.

There are lot of temples in Lumbini and there is one of the popular temple is Maya Devi. Maya Devi was the mother of Gautam Buddha. There are many modern temples along with the ancient temples. Pillars of Ashoka
Pillars of Ashoka were made by the Mauryan King Ashok. There is a series of columns. There is an inscription of Brahmi on the pillar. There was a description of the pillars of Dharma. These pillars are known to be the earliest stones sculptural remains from India. The Pillars of Ashoka are graphically represented as the Lion Capital of Ashoka. The emblem of India was adopted from the column of the Lion Capital of Ashok.

There are many beautiful spots in Lumbini that can be visited when you go over there. There are Maya Devi Temple, world peace Pagoda, Myanmar Golden Temple, Ashoka Pillar, and Lumbini crane sanctuary. Maya Devi temple is also one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is one of the best popular and attractive temples in Lumbini that is located exactly near to a pool and a Sacred Garden. It was in the year 2013, there was an international team of archaeologists who were digging under the temple. They discovered some important remains. These remains were of an ancient tree shrine. It was dated before 550 BCE. It was a very popular and amazing sighting.

Lumbini is a place where there are many kinds of monuments, a museum, and monasteries. Lumbini International Research Institute is also located in Lumbini. The monasteries in Buddhism are considered very great in this religion. They are the fundamental institutions of Buddhism. Monasteries are the places where monks and nuns.
